L'abri is located above the beautiful Takamatua Bay, on the outskirts of the historic French Township of Akaroa.

This beautiful bed and breakfast on a breathtaking site offers luxury accommodation in a new architectually designed home, or a cosy garden cottage, both with privacy, comfort and relaxation in mind. Once you arrive at L'abri you can park the car, leave the stress of day to day living behind and unwind.

This is a great part of the world to enjoy easy walks. Safe swimming is only 100 meters away, or you may choose to just relax on the veranda and enjoy the surrounding beauty and plentiful bird life.

Catering for a maximum of six guests, a high level of service is offered. Select from one of the two rooms in the house, with a full cooked breakfast provided, or the cottage which is self-contained.

We have large organic vegetable gardens and our own beautiful hens. The hens and garden provide for the delicious breakfasts.
